Swirl & Shine is an independent site about one narrow thing: getting a car clean without grinding swirl marks into the clear coat. We rank the gear that job needs — pressure washers, foam cannons, car-wash soaps and snow foams, wash mitts, grit guards and drying towels — and we try to do it more plainly than most of the sites you’ll find alongside us in the results.

Who writes this

This site is written by Stephen V., and here is the honest version, because the honest version is the whole point. Stephen is an enthusiast, not a professional detailer. There is no test lab behind this site, no garage full of units on loan, and no lab coat. He is simply someone who is genuinely into keeping a car clean without wrecking the finish, and who would rather read the manual than guess.

That matters for what you should expect from these pages. Nothing here is professional detailing advice. It is a well-researched enthusiast’s read on which gear is worth your money and how to use it without scratching your paint — useful, but not a substitute for a pro if your car needs real paint-correction work.

What this site does

Instead of claiming to have bench-tested twenty pressure washers, we do something you can actually check. For every product we rank, we compile the published specs— PSI, GPM, flow, materials, formulation and warranty — from the manufacturer’s own listing and manuals, then do the paint-safety math on top of them. We render live prices and aggregated owner ratings from the store rather than freezing a number into the page, and every pick comes with an honest note on who should skip it. What this site does not do

We do not test units and pretend otherwise. We do not take sponsorships or paid placements, we do not accept free products from brands in exchange for coverage, and we never invent a star rating, review count or award to fill a gap.
