Swirl & Shine

Editorial Policy

The standards every page is held to: how we keep specs accurate, fix mistakes in the open, and keep our picks independent of who pays.

These are the standards every page on Swirl & Shine is held to. They exist so that “trust us” is never something we ask you to do on faith — the method and the rules are both written down where you can hold us to them.

Accuracy

Every spec we state — PSI, GPM, capacity, foam ratio, materials, warranty — is tied back to the manufacturer’s own listing or manual, not to another review site and never to memory. We do not invent star ratings, review counts, awards or “we tested it” claims, because we haven’t tested anything. When a brand doesn’t publish a number, we write that it isn’t published rather than estimate one. The full ranking method is on our How We Rank page.

Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes, and when we do we’d rather fix it than hide it. If you spot a spec that doesn’t match the listing, a stale price, a broken link or a claim that doesn’t hold up, tell us on the contact page. We check the report against the source, and if you’re right we correct the page and note that we did. Honest corrections build more trust than pretending to be flawless.

Updates and “last verified”

Prices and owner ratings render live, so they stay current on their own — the number you see is today’s number. Our roundups and picks are re-verified on a regular cadenceand carry a “last verified” date so you can see how fresh the research is; when a product is discontinued, it gets replaced at the next pass rather than left to rot as a dead link.

Independence

Our picks are not for sale. Rankings are decided by our method — paint safety, published specs, value math and live owner data — and never by who pays us the most. We take no sponsorships or paid placements and accept no free products in exchange for coverage. We do earn affiliate commissions when you buy through our links, at no extra cost to you, and that never changes what we recommend; the details are in our affiliate disclosure. More on who’s behind the site and why it’s built this way is on our about page.
