Swirl & Shine

Affiliate Disclosure

This site is free because affiliate commissions pay for it. Here is exactly how that works, and why it never changes what we recommend.

Swirl & Shine is a free site, and affiliate commissions are how it stays that way. This page explains exactly how that works, because you deserve to know how the thing you’re reading gets paid for.

How we earn

When you click a buy link on this site and go on to purchase, we may earn a commission from the retailer — at no extra cost to you. You pay the same price you would have paid going to the store directly; the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your wallet.

Our primary affiliate program is Amazon Associates. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. We may add other reputable programs over time, and this disclosure covers those too.

How the links work

Product links route through our own /go redirect before handing you off to the retailer. That lets us keep links tidy and swap a dead or discontinued listing in one place instead of leaving you on a broken page. It does not change the price you pay or add anything to your order.

About the prices you see

Prices on this site render live from the retailer, so they reflect what the store is showing rather than a number we typed in months ago. Retail prices change often, and the price at checkout is the one that counts. Where we can’t verify a figure from a primary source, we say so plainly rather than fill the gap with a guess.

Commissions never change our rankings

This is the important part. Which products we recommend, and in what order, is decided by our method — not by what pays us more. We don’t take sponsorships or paid placements, we don’t accept free products in exchange for coverage, and a higher commission never moves a product up the list. Every pick also carries an honest note on who should skip it, including picks we’d earn from. You can read exactly how a ranking is made on our How We Rank page, and the accuracy and independence standards behind it in our editorial policy.
