Worx sells two versions of the same idea, and the naming does not help anyone. Both run on the 20V Power Share battery platform, both draw water from a bucket or any open source through a suction hose, and both are marketed with the same photograph of someone rinsing a mountain bike at a trailhead. The difference is a single number: 320 PSI on the WG620, 710 PSI on the Nitro.

That gap sounds small next to a 2,000 PSI corded machine. On these two it decides what the tool can actually do.

The short answer

The Nitrois the one to buy if a cordless unit is going to be your main way of cleaning anything. At 710 PSI it crosses from “strong hose” into “light cleaning tool”, and that is a real threshold.

The WG620makes sense as a cheap, packable second unit if you already own a corded washer — a bag-sized rinser for the trunk of the car, muddy boots, dog paws, a bike after a wet ride. As a primary machine it will disappoint you.

What 320 PSI actually does

A domestic garden hose typically delivers somewhere around 40–60 PSI at the nozzle. So 320 PSI is genuinely several times a hose — it is a firm, directed stream that will sluice mud off a wheel arch and rinse shampoo off a panel without much fuss.

What it will not do is break the bond on anything baked on. Road film, bug splatter, traffic grime that has been on the car two weeks — those need either chemistry or contact, and at this pressure you are supplying neither. It also will not drive a foam cannon, which is the disappointment most buyers actually hit. Cannons are flow-and-pressure devices and they simply do not draw soap properly this far down the range.

What 710 PSI adds

More than doubling the pressure changes the character of the tool. The Nitro will lift light dried-on dirt rather than only rinsing loose dirt, it clears wheel barrels and arches far more convincingly, and it cuts the time to rinse a whole car noticeably.

It still is not a pressure washer in the sense that a Sun Joe SPX3000is. It will not run a cannon, it will not carry a full two-bucket wash on one battery, and its flow rate is not published on the listing we read — our spec table shows that as “Not published” rather than guessing. What it is, honestly, is the most capable version of a genuinely useful niche tool.

Where both of them beat a real pressure washer

It is worth being clear about what these do that a better machine cannot, because it is the entire case for owning one.

  • No faucet needed.A bucket, a rain barrel, a jerry can, a lake. If you live in an apartment with no outside faucet, this is one of the very few ways to get pressurized water onto a car at all — see washing without a driveway for how it stacks up against the alternatives.
  • No power outlet needed. Trailheads, campsites, a horsebox, the far end of a yard. Nothing corded goes there.
  • It fits in a trunk. A corded washer plus hose is a two-handed carry. This is a bag.

Against that, both give up flow, both give up runtime, and both are dependent on your battery collection. Neither is a machine you build a wash routine around.

Batteries, and the cost nobody quotes

Both units are frequently sold tool-only. If you already own Worx 20V batteries that is the bargain of the comparison; if you do not, add the cost of a battery and charger to the sticker price before deciding either is cheap.

Plan on two batteries if this is your main machine. A single pack will not see you through a full wash on a car, and the point at which you run out is invariably halfway through the rinse, with soap drying on the panels — which is exactly the scenario that causes water spotting.

Our recommendation

If you are choosing between these two on the assumption that one of them replaces a pressure washer, neither does, and the honest advice is to buy a corded machine under $200 instead and keep the cordless money.

If you have already decided you need the bucket-fed, no-faucet capability, buy the Nitro. The price difference between the two is small relative to the difference in what they can do, and the WG620's 320 PSI is the version of this tool people end up quietly regretting.

Is 320 PSI enough to wash a car?

It is enough to rinse one, not to pre-wash one. At 320 PSI you are producing a firm hose-like stream — fine for rinsing soap off, sluicing down wheel arches or cleaning bikes and boots, but it will not shift baked-on road film and it will not run a foam cannon. If a rinse is all you need, it is enough; if you expected pressure-washer behavior, it is not.

Can the Nitro Hydroshot run a foam cannon?

Not usefully. At 710 PSI it is well below what a standard cannon needs to draw soap and generate thick foam — most cannons want a corded machine in the 1,500 PSI and 1.2 GPM region as a floor. A garden-hose foam gun is the sensible way to add foam to a cordless setup, since those are designed for low pressure in the first place.

Which one should I buy if I can only have one?

The Nitro, if a cordless unit is genuinely your main machine — the extra pressure is the difference between rinsing and lightly cleaning, and it is not an expensive step up. Buy the WG620 only if you already own a proper corded washer and want a cheap, packable second unit for away-from-home jobs.

How long does the battery last?

Worx does not publish a flow rate for either unit on the listings we read, and runtime depends on your battery's amp-hour rating, so we do not quote a figure. What owners consistently report is that a single battery will not carry a full two-bucket wash on a car. If a cordless is your main machine, plan on a second battery.

Can they draw water from a bucket?

Yes — that is the whole point of both. A suction hose draws from a bucket, a jug, a rain barrel or a lake, so you can wash away from a faucet entirely. That is the genuine capability neither a corded washer nor a garden hose can match, and it is the reason to own one of these at all.
